Teaddict Hong Kong Style Milk Tea

If you are a fan of strong tea, you would definitely have to try out this Hong Kong style milk tea. The tea base of Hong Kong style milk tea includes extremely fine tea leaves- tea dust, which gives Hong Kong milk tea its signature strong taste. This is then brewed in boiling water and then poured through a “silk stocking”, a sackcloth bag which is used to filter the tea leaves. Evaporated milk, instead of regular milk is then added to the cup, giving the milk tea its signature silky texture. 

Each Teaddict 100g tin comes with a 100g bag of tea leaves (makes approx. 12 cups of milk tea) as well as a home-edition mini “silk stocking”, so that you can recreate your perfect cup of Hong Kong milk tea at home!

Brewing method:

1. Add 4 teaspoons of tea leaves (8g) of tea leaves into the mini tea strainer (included in the set).

2. Place the mini tea strainer into a small tea pot. Pour 200ml of boiling water over the tea.

3. Cover the teapot and let it infuse for 5 minutes.

4. Add 30ml of evaporated milk and 5g of white sugar into a cup.

5. Finally, pour the tea through the mini tea strainer into the tea cup containing milk and sugar. Your perfect cup of milk tea is ready!
